- struggling emotionally and psychologically?
- grieving the loss of someone or a relationship?
- feeling down, depressed or overwhelmed?
Do you keep repeating the same patterns of destructive behaviour and want to understand why and increase your future choices?
Talking about and exploring your present and past, including your thoughts, feelings, behaviour and any dreams you’ve had, can help you to understand yourself more, increase your awareness, improve your emotional life and your choices in how you live now and in the future.
Repeating patterns of behaviour
Sometimes we find ourselves repeating patterns of behaviour, which might be positive or negative and which we might or might not be aware of i.e. be unconscious. Psychodynamic counselling or psychotherapy aims to increase our consciousness and awareness. This increases our choices in whether or not we repeat the same patterns of behaviour.
During psychodynamic counselling or psychotherapy we may find ourselves relating to the therapist as we do with other people. This is called “transference” and can be helpful, if shared in the therapy, in gaining a deeper awareness of ourselves.
Areas of counselling and psychotherapy I work with:-
- abortion/termination of pregnancy
- bereavement and loss
- gender identity
- low self-confidence
- low self-esteem
- pregnancy and birth
- relationship difficulties
- sexual abuse and sexual trauma
- suicidal thoughts

Sessions last for 50 minutes and are weekly.

Psychodynamic Counselling & Psychotherapy ranges between:-
£60 – £90 per session (depending on your income). Concessions are available for morning and early afternoon sessions.
The first one or two sessions, are to see if we can work together and whether the therapy I offer is right for you.

If the therapy is right for you and we decide to continue working together, at the next session, we will negotiate a working agreement. After agreeing this, I will email you a signed copy for you to sign and email me, keeping a copy for yourself.
