Professional career
My professional career started by training and qualifying, in 1989, as a Registered General Nurse within the NHS. I initially worked in general medicine and then specialised in cardio-thoracic medicine. In 1992, I further specialised in sexual health.
I work part-time in sexual health and also in private practice.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy training
My psychotherapy career started by successfully completing a “Certificate in Counselling Skills and Attitudes” (WPF Counselling) in 1995 followed by a “Diploma in Counselling Skills – Access” (WPF Counselling) in 1996.
I trained for four years and qualified at WPF Therapy (London) in 2008, having successfully completed a “Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Studies/WPF Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling”.
Psychosexual and relationship therapy training
In 2016 I trained for a further four years and qualified in 2020 having successfully completed a “Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy”.
Experience
After qualifying, I worked as an Honorary Psychodynamic Psychotherapist at WPF Therapy (London) until I started working in private practice.
I practice psychosexual and relationship therapy both within the NHS and also in my private practice.
Registration and professional organisation details
I am a Registered Member MBACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), The FPC (The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling) and I am also a Registered Member of COSRT (College of Sexual & Relationship Therapists) and abide by the COSRT Code of Ethics and Practice.
