Psychodynamic counselling or psychotherapy aims to increase our consciousness and self awareness. This increases our choices in whether or not we repeat the same patterns of behaviour or do something different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\">During psychodynamic counselling or psychotherapy we may find ourselves relating to the therapist as we do with other people i.e. like a family member, partner, friend or colleague. This is called &#8220;transference&#8221; and can be helpful, if shared in the therapy, in gaining a deeper awareness of ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Areas of counselling and psychotherapy I work with:-<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-white-color has-text-color\">\n<li>abortion\/termination of pregnancy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>anxiety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>bereavement and loss<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>depression<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>discrimination\u200b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>gender identity <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HIV\/AIDS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>infertility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>loneliness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>low self-confidence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>low self-esteem <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>miscarriage <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pregnancy and birth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>relationship difficulties\u200b <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sexual abuse and sexual trauma<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sexuality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>suicidal thoughts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Session frequency and timing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\">I offer short term (12 sessions) and long term (open ended)&nbsp;<strong>individual<\/strong>&nbsp;counselling and psychotherapy.&nbsp;\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\">Sessions last for 50 minutes and are&nbsp;<strong>weekly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fees and payment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\">Psychodynamic Counselling &amp; Psychotherapy ranges between:-<br>\u00a365 &#8211; \u00a385 per session (depending on your income). Concessions are available for morning and early afternoon sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Initial sessions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\">The first one or two sessions, are to see if we can work together and whether the therapy I offer is right for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\">\u200bInitial sessions are payable at the end of the session by either payment link, BACS transfer or with cash, debit\/credit card (if in-person).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Working agreement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color\">If the therapy is right for you and we decide to continue working together, at the next session, we will negotiate a working agreement.
